Centrica (CNA) – Having fallen as much as 18% yesterday after issuing a profits warning, the British Gas owner has been raised to Neutral from Sell by Goldman Sachs with a price target of 149p.

Provident Financial (PFG) – The company has announced that executive chairwoman Manjit Wolstenholme has died suddenly, just three months after taking up the role at the head of the company.

Rio Tinto (RIO) – The dual-listed miner has agreed to a third extension of its joint venture in Western Australia with China’s Sinosteel. The extension is expected to see an additional 10m tonnes of iron ore delivered to the JV.

William Hill (WMH) – The bookie has confirmed that it is in preliminary discussions with Crownbet, the online business of Crown Resorts, about a possible combination of Australian businesses.
