Movers & Shakers - 21 November 2017

The below stocks have been identified as having potential to register bigger than normal share price moves (up or down) today based on the news cited

Babcock International (BAB) – The company has announced both FY revenues and pretax profits increasing by 6.6% and 11.3% YoY respectively, just a week after the defence contractor fell 7.5% in a single session. Babcock has 92% of budgeted revenue now in place for FY18.

easyJet (EZJ) – The low cost airline intends to continue its ‘purposeful’ investment strategy, as forward bookings for Q1’18 reach 88% and 26% for Q2. Without including the acquired assets of failing rival Air Berlin, the company expects to grow capacity by 6% next year.

Kingfisher (KGF) – The B&Q and Screwfix parent has announced Q3 like-for-like sales decreased 5% based on a weak performance in its French businesses, although this is better than estimates of -6%. The company expects to meet its full year targets.

WPP (WPP) – The advertising behemoth is set to sell its 24.7% stake in Japan’s Asatsu-DK to bain Capital, clearing the way for the latter’s $1.3bn offer to go through. WPP stands to make around £240m from the sale.
