Barratt Developments (BDEV) – The UK housebuilder has announced a record H1 profit as demand for new homes remains strong, headlined by a 2% growth in forward sales to £2.4bn, while total completions also increased by 2% and the average selling price improved by 6.5% to £281,000.

BT (BT.A) – The telecoms company has been upgraded to ‘Hold’ from ‘Sell’ by Deutsche Bank.

Glencore (GLEN) – The mining and commodities giant has announced a total dividend payout of $2.9bn (or $0.20 a share), well ahead of expectations, as FY earnings increase by 44% to $14.7bn and net debt is slashed by 31% to $10.7bn.

Lloyds (LLOY) – The UK bank has announced a share buyback of up to £1bn as revenues meet estimates, however pre-tax profits miss despite 24% increase (£5.3bn vs £5.7bn) and the company announces a larger than expected PPI provision of £600m.
