Markets Overview:

UK 100 is called to open +10 points this morning at 7079.  A cautiously optimistic start is expected this morning on the UK’s Blue chip index, this comes despite Chinese trade data revealing export growth slowed more than expected. Overnight US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said that she would not be against a rise in interest rates as they would signal the economy is on the mend. On Friday the Dow Jones closed 179 points higher, to finish the week at 34,756 while the S&P 500 jumped 37 points to 4,230, this was inspire of US jobs data coming in a little short of expectations. In Asia this morning, Japan’s Nikkei was 103 points in the green at 29,044 but Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was down 223 points at 28,695, being more sensitive to Chinese export numbers, than its Japanese counterpart.
