Markets Overview:

 

UK 100 is called to open -12 points this morning at 6760.  The UK bluechip index is called lower this morning as investor sentiment from weaker global sessions yesterday seems to have filtered through to Europe, as US treasury yields once again rose yesterday.  This let to The Dow Jones ending the session on Tuesday down by 0.31% at close at 33.066 while the S&P dropped similarly 0.32% to end the session at 3,958 and the Nasdaq completed the red day stateside falling by 0.11% to 13,045.  The picture was much the same in Asia this morning, The Hang Seng index in Hong Kong slipped 0.31% while the Shanghai Composite in China fell 0.61%.  In Japan, the Nikkei gave up 0.73%.

Company News:

AstraZeneca: Germany will restrict the use of AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine to people aged 60 and over and high priority groups.

 

GKP wings to a 2020 pretax loss of $47m (2019: $43.3m profit) as they are to reinstate their annual dividend totalling $25m in 2021. Their average 2020 output was 36,625 bopd, which beat guidance.

 

Petropavlovsk increases their guidance for 2021 gold production to 470,000 ounces (from 430,000 ounces) as they plan to complete their management restructure by Q2.
