Company News & Broker Comments:

Company News:

Bunzl reported a 15.4% drop in adjusted profits for the first half of the year, citing weaker performance in North America and continental Europe. The essential non-sale goods and services supplier had already unsettled investors in April when it downgraded its 2025 outlook due to challenging conditions in its biggest market, North America. In today’s half-year results, CEO Frank van Zanten reaffirmed the group’s guidance, with adjusted profits falling to £345.6 million.

John Wood Group announced that its board is inclined to accept a revised offer of 30p per share from Dubai-based Sidara, following the completion the company’s due diligence. Sidara has reaffirmed its intention to proceed with a formal offer, pending the satisfaction of remaining pre-conditions. Wood also stated that it has reached commercial agreement with its lenders on the proposed refinancing terms, and work is ongoing to finalise and publish its audited financial results for 2024.
