Markets Overview:

The UK 100 called to open +46 points at 8,091.  The UK 100 looks set to open higher again this morning, setting a fresh all time high in the process, a combination of interest rate optimism and a pause in Middle East tensions have now seen the UK’s Blue-Chip index close at record highs for two consecutive sessions.  Stocks on Wall Street ripped higher for a second session yesterday as a strong batch of corporate earnings assuaged concerns over higher rates.  The Dow Jones climbed 263.71 points, or 0.69%, to close at 38,503.69. The S&P gained 1.2% to finish the session at 5,070.55, while the Nasdaq ticked up 1.59% to end at 15,696.64.

Croda International says they are on track to meet previous group guidance for FY24.

Reckitt Benckiser’s like-for-like sales growth beat estimates in Q1 as more people bought its Lysol, Dettol and Finish cleaning products even as prices rose. Their quarterly like-for-like net sales rose 1.5%, ahead of the 0.9% growth analysts had expected.
