Markets Overview:

 

The UK 100 is called to open +18 points this morning at 7138.  The UK 100 is set to continue its recovery rally on Tuesday as traders shrug off recession worries, adding to the near-106 points gained at the start of the week to 7,121.81. Asian markets are almost all in the green this morning, and US traders returning after the Emancipation Day holiday are expected to be in a positive mood, with futures pointing higher for the major Wall Street indices.

AstraZeneca states that Eplontersen meets endpoints in analysis of trial for Polyneuropathy.

 

 

DS Smith reports a FY pretax profit of £378m (2021: £231m profit) as they increase their dividend to 15p (up from 12.1p previously). They have started the new financial year well and they expect to see 2-4% growth in volumes and “further substantial improvement” in performance.

 

 

EasyJet enters a deal with Airbus to buy 56 A320neo family aircrafts.

 

 

John Wood Group says current CEO Robin Watson will step down from July 1st, who will be replaced by current COO Ken Gilmartin.
