Markets Overview:

UK 100 is called to open -32 points this morning at 6985.  Wall Street’s sharp fall on Friday was triggered by comments on Friday night by James Bullard when he said that the Fed might need to raise rates in late 2022 instead of 2023 which looks likely to spill over to London, getting the week off to a negative start, falling below the 7000 mark. In Asia earlier, Japan was the biggest casualty in the fall as the Nikkei dropped 3.6%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was off 1.5%, while the Shanghai Composite was barely changed.
