Markets Overview:

 

The UK 100 is called to open +6 points this morning at 7022.  The UK 100 looks set to start the week modestly higher, bouncing from overnight lows.  On Friday, US manufacturing data were softer than expected, this led to a mixed session on Wall Street Friday, The Dow Jones slipped 38.29 points, or 0.13% to 29,888.78, while the S&P gained 0.22% to close at 3,674.84. The Nasdaq jumped 1.43% to 10,798.35.  Asian shares were mostly lower on Monday as China’s one-year and five-year loan prime rates were both left unchanged. Japan’s Nikkei was trading 0.96% lower while South Korea’s Kospi tumbled 2.45%.  The Shanghai Composite in China rose 0.09% and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index gained 0.05%.

Associated British Foods maintained its FY guidance after trading in line with expectations in its latest quarter and said its Primark fashion division would launch a UK trial of a Click & Collect service on children’s products. Revenue for Q3 to May 28th +32% and sales in its food businesses +10%.

 

 

Deliveroo hires MoneySupermarket.com CFO Scilla Grimble to be their new CFO. Current CFO Adam Miller will depart on September 17th.

 

 

Kingspan expects to report record H1 trading profit of 415m euros, up from 329m YoY.

 

 

Rank Group says Grosvenor casinos performance since April were “considerably weaker than expected”.
