Markets Overview:

The UK 100 is called to open +158 points at at 10,334.
The UK’s blue chip index looks set to start the month a quarter on the front foot, this comes after the UK 100 closed the month strongly yesterday adding 48 points, stocks rose on Tuesday following new reports that gave investors hope that the Iran war could soon come to an end.

The Dow Jones was up 1,125.37 points, or 2.49%, and closed at 46,341.51. The move came after an unconfirmed report said Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is open to ending the war with guarantees. The S&P gained 2.91% to end at 6,528.52, and the Nasdaq advanced 3.83% to 21,590.63. Each of the three indexes posted their best day since May.

Asian stock markets jumped on Wednesday after President Donald Trump said the US will leave Iran in “two to three weeks” regardless of whether a deal is struck with Tehran.  Japan’s Nikkei 225 index gained by 4.9%, while the Kospi in South Korea rose by 8.6% in afternoon trading. But both indexes are still trading lower than before the Iran war started on 28 February.
