Markets Overview:

 

 

The UK 100 is called to open +45 points today at 7300.  The UK 100 looks set this morning to reclaim the losses given up during yesterdays session, ahead of todays retail sales figures.  It was a mixed session on Wall Street yesterday with the Dow Jones down 60 points at 35,871 while the S&P advanced 16 points to advance to a fresh record high of 4,705.  Asian markets have been similarly varied this morning, with Tokyo’s Nikkei 161 points to the good at 29,759 and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng off 314 points at 25,006.

Great Portland Estates reports a H1 pretax profit of £62.3m, swinging from a £154.8m loss in 2020.
 
Kingfisher have forecast FY profit to be at the higher end of its previously guided range of £910-950m after reporting strong Q3 sales on a two-year basis. Like-for-like sales fell 2.4% in the quarter ending Oct 31st against higher nubers in 2020 when it benefited from soaring demand during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ryanair gives notice of intention to cancel listing on LSE’s main market. Final day of dealing shares would be December 17th 2021.
Wizz Air CEO Jozsef Varadi sells 45,000 shares at £45.61-47.51 worth £2.1m.
