Markets Overview:

The UK 100 is called to open -24 points today at 7210.  The UK 100 is set for a cautious start as concerns over the delta plus variant of coronavirus and the health of the Chinese economy following a disappointing set of economic numbers out of China this morning.  However will looks set to remain around its 18 month high struck on at the end of last week.  Wall Street on Friday saw the Dow Jones advanced 382 points on Friday, ending the week with a 1.58% gain for its best week since June. The S&P 500 rose 1.82% last week for its best week since July, while the Nasdaq Composite saw its best week since the end of August, with the tech-heavy index adding 2.18%.
