Markets Overview:

The UK 100 is called to open +5 points at at 10,594.
The UK 100 looks set to open modestly higher this morning, adding to yesterday’s 30 point gain.

US equities closed at fresh record highs, with the S&P 500 at 7,041.28 (+0.26%), Nasdaq at 24,102.70 (+0.36%) and Dow at 48,578.72 (+0.24%). Energy led (+1.6%) tracking oil, while healthcare lagged (-0.8%). Nasdaq extended its winning streak to 12 sessions.

The rally has been driven primarily by easing geopolitical risk, with the Israel–Lebanon ceasefire and potential US–Iran talks underpinning sentiment. However, price action remains headline-driven and volatile.

Overnight, Asia softened as profit-taking emerged. Nikkei 225 fell -1.19% to 58,980.0, Hang Seng declined -1.31%, while regional markets remain on track for weekly gains. Futures point to a softer European open.
