Company News:

Babcock International Group said trading over the first five months of its financial year had run in line with expectations, leaving its full-year outlook and medium-term guidance unchanged.

Barratt Redrow has reported a 48% jump in statutory pre-tax profit to £363.5m but cut its housebuilding forecast for the year ahead as planning delays continue to hamper development.  The Leicestershire-headquartered housebuilder delivered 17,667 homes during the 52 weeks to June 28, up 5% from 16,826 on an aggregated basis a year earlier.  Revenue increased 6.6% to £6.06bn, although adjusted profit before tax and purchase price allocation adjustments fell 7.1% to £572.8m.  Statutory pre-tax profit increased from £245.3m on the aggregated comparative to £363.5m, helped by a reduced impact from costs associated with the Redrow transaction and integration.  The group ended the year with net cash of £772.8m after paying £242.2m in dividends and completing £100m of share buybacks.  However, Barratt Redrow has lowered its FY27 completion guidance to between 17,500 and 17,900 homes, having previously expected between 17,700 and 18,200.
