Markets Overview:

 

UK 100 called to open -10 points this morning at 6095.   During Tuesdays trading session in the US, all three major benchmarks closed in the green, The Dow Jones ended marginally higher by just 2.27 points higher to close at 27,995.60. The S&P advanced further still, adding another 0.5% to end the day at 3,401.20.  While the standout was the Nasdaq which rose 1.21% to end at 11,190.32.  The markets were driven higher in part thanks to a further recovery of the major tech stocks, seeing shares of Tesla rising 7%.  While Facebook, Amazon, Netflix and Alphabet also posted gains.

 

Company News:

Galliford Try reports a strong outlook as results were in line with expectations and the business is well placed for the new financial year. Revenue for FY 2020 was £1,090m (2019: £1,403) and FY group net loss from operations of £37.3m (2019: £64.2m). No final dividend this year but they anticipate reinstating dividend payments once they’ve returned to profitability.

Plus 500 says operational momentum achieved during H1 2020 has continued into the second half of the year to date. Revenue and in particular customer income have remained strong in H2 2020. The board remains very confident about outlook.

Premier Oil are in talks with private equity backed oil producer Chrysaor and several other parties on alternative deals to secure long-term debt refinancing.
