Markets Overview:

 

UK 100 is called to open +14 points this morning at 7186.   A positive open is expected today on the back of a 16 month highest closing on the UK blue-chip index. Stateside yesterday saw Wall Street suffer, the Dow Jones closed down 0.27% at 34,299 while the S&P 500 dropped 0.2% to 4,246, the Nasdaq was the biggest faller, dropping 0.71% to 14,072. The picture was similarly negative in Asia this morning, with Japan’s Nikkei down 0.5% while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng dropped 0.26%.

ASOS CEO Nick Beighton sold £1.5m worth of his shares in the company.

 

ScS Group says their FY22 outlook is “substantially better than current market forecasts” on strong orders.

 

Tullow Oil says that their recent asset sales mean they are on track to get $1bn from sales and cost cuts. Output to end of May averaged 62,000 Bopd, which was in line with expectations.
