UK 100 called to open +30 points this morning at 6002. Calls for a positive open come as Asian markets were very much in the green overnight as coronavirus vaccine resumes phase 3 trials. During trading on Friday the Dow Jones bucked recent trading sessions by rising 131.06 points, or 0.48%, to close out the week at 27,665.64. The S&P didn’t fare as well but still managed to close the session flat at 3,340.97. The Nasdaq however continued its disappointing week dropping 0.6% to 10,853.54. this saw the Nasdaq down 4% for the week and in turn producing its worst week since March and now sits 10% below from its recent record.
AstraZeneca has resumed British clinical trials of its COVID-19 vaccine after getting the green light from safety watchdogs.
BT has said that its mobile network EE would not renew its contract with retailer Dixons Carphone and would instead focus on its own online and retail channels.
Nvidia have announced they are to acquire ARM from Softbank for a deal worth $40bn.
Vodafone says due diligence has been completed over its potential stake sale in Vodafone Egypt. They now look to Stc and Telecom Egypt to find a suitable agreement to enable the transaction to close.
