The UK 100 is called to open -32 Points this morning at 9,410. The UK 100 is expected to open lower today, futures indicate a 32.8 point or 0.3% drop, seeing the index opening at 9,410. This follows a Monday close of 9,442.87, up 15.40 points or 0.2%.
Stocks surged on Monday Stateside, rebounding from Friday’s sell-off after President Donald Trump said trade relations with China “will all be fine.” The Dow Jones closed up 587.98 points, or 1.29%, to 46,067.58, which equates to 67% of its Friday loss. The S&P climbed 1.56% to finish at 6,654.72, retracing 56% of its prior decline. The Nasdaq popped 2.21% to settle at 22,694.61 as beat-down technology stocks led the bounce. Oracle rallied more than 5%, while Nvidia rose close to 3%. Broadcom surged almost 10% after making its partnership with OpenAI official on Monday morning.
Asian stock markets showed mixed performance overnight on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, despite an earlier rally on Wall Street. Heightened US-China trade tensions weighed on investor sentiment. In Japan, the Nikkei 225, declined by 1.18% to 47,520.57. In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng slipped by 0.24% to 25,827.92. The Kospi Index in South Korea added 1.01%. China’s Shanghai Composite edged up by 0.2% to 3,897.56.
Bellway reported significant growth in housing completions, revenue, and profits. The company announced a £150 million share buyback program as part of its refreshed capital allocation strategy. Despite facing market challenges, Bellway said it is well-positioned for future growth, supported by a robust land bank and a focus on capital efficiency. The company aims to increase volume output and shareholder returns, with plans to expand its timber frame facility and maintain its five-star homebuilder status.
THG reported its strongest quarter of organic sales growth since 2021, with a 6.3% increase in Q3 revenue, driven by significant growth in both THG Beauty and THG Nutrition. The company has returned to year-to-date revenue growth, aided by strategic changes and brand investments. Despite the impact of asset disposals and discontinued activities, THG Beauty achieved a 4.2% revenue growth, bolstered by a successful advent launch and strong UK retail momentum. THG Nutrition reported a 10.0% YoY growth, the highest in over two years, with expansion in the US and Middle East markets. The company remains optimistic about meeting its full-year performance expectations, entering its most profitable period.
