A positive US jobs report on Friday, better Chinese trade data over the weekend and an upward revision to Japan’s Q1 GDP has provided a positive start to the week on what could be a quiet day on account of European holidays.
The UK UK Index has revisited recent 6880 late May highs but failed to better it and has work to do to regain the high of mid-May (6897) leaving it within its 6770-6897 sideways range of the last month.
Germany’s DAX shows a similar test or recent highs, but all-time highs and it has the advantage of rising 1-week support at 9980 and the key 10,000 level which could become supportive for further tests higher.
The US Dow Jones’ gains following its breakout at 16750 continue, and it remains close to all-time highs of 16950. Stronger gains over the last week offer less support than peers.
