Equity markets are suffering this morning, Germany’s DAX being the biggest underperformer with the index’s laggards lagging more than the leaders are leading. The UK UK 100 has dropped back from all time highs again to trade flat below 7100, joining European markets in digesting continuing worries about Greece and its potential inability to tread water for much longer. Wall St. is also down, with the Fed desperately trying to allay fears that a 2015 interest rate hike would cause tremendous rumblings in the global markets. Gold is trending up slightly, but then so is the Dollar Basket meaning a correction is likely in due course – the pair usually move contrary to one another.
UK 100 is testing the upper bound of its rising channel with horizontal support around 7045 having the potential to engineer a bounce and subsequent exit from a 300-point trading range.
