UK 100 Index Focus – 16 Apr

Major Support & Resistance (pivot points – explained):

Pivot Point: 6556; Support 1, 2 & 3: 6517, 6463, 6424; Resistance 1, 2 & 3: 6610, 6649, 6703

No change to our watch levels of yesterday with another visit of 6500 late yesterday reinforcing 1-month support and a another flirtation with 6600 confirming this would likely be the next hurdle before any breakout to try for 6700 or better.

Chinese overnight data and US results may have helped risk appetite, offsetting the worrying Ukraine situation, but beware the lack of breakout leaving the risk  that any disappointment (all good news already out?) being taken as a reason to simply usher us back south.

Don’t ignore UK jobs data, Eurozone CPI and Bank of America Q1 results which are all candidates for breakouts or breakdowns before lunch. Thereafter, beware US housing/Industrial data, Fed Chair Yellen speaking, the Fed Beige Book and results from IBM and Google.
