Index Focus - 27 January 2016

Equity markets doing their best to maintain recovery courses from recent lows with some delivering the breakouts needed before a second wind higher. Apple results suggesting slowing iPhone sales and thus revenue declines in Q1 have dampened sentiment (even though, like China, things were always destined to slow) along with  exceptional charges from RBS and continued Oil price volatility. All eyes on the tone of the Fed policy statement this evening with markets hoping for some form of ‘dovish mea culpa‘ after the tough start to 2016 for global markets after its December hike.

UK 100 still hanging around 5900, yet to deliver break-out like peers. DAX breakout already found support 9750, keeping uptrend alive. Wall St made headway beyond 2016 intersecting trendline at 16000.  Gold holding its uptrend, close to $1117 rising support .
