Markets Overview:

 

The UK 100 called to open +36 points this morning at 8,827.  The UK 100 looks set to open higher this morning, open calls suggest that the UK’s bluechip index may regain the majority of the 51 points it dropped on Thursday.

US Markets return today having been closed yesterday for the Juneteenth holiday.

Asian markets are mixed this morning as the week wraps up. In Tokyo, the Nikkei is flat, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is up 0.7% and Shanghai’s SSE Composite is down 0.1%.

Company News:

The Berkeley Group Holdings announced significant board changes, with Chairman Michael Dobson stepping down after the AGM in September 2025. Rob Perrins, the current CEO, will transition to Executive Chair, ensuring leadership continuity as the company embarks on its Berkeley 2035 strategy. Richard Stearn, currently CFO, will be promoted to CEO, maintaining the company’s tradition of internal promotion and stability. The board also welcomes Richard Dakin as a Non-Executive Director, bringing extensive experience in banking and real estate, while William Jackson will not seek re-election.
