Ted Baker Shares

Ted Baker is one of the world’s leading lifestyle and clothing brands. The British company’s origins date back to 1988 when it opened its first store in Glasgow. Ted Baker started life as a menswear brand, founded by Ray Kelvin together with his partners at Goldberg & Sons. In 1990, Ray Kelvin purchased the Ted Baker company outright from former partners. The company now owns more around 500 stores worldwide, including close to 200 shops in the UK in London, Manchester, Nottingham, and Leeds. In 1995, Ted Baker expanded outside of menswear into a new Ted Baker Woman range of clothes and accessories.

Outside of the UK, the company owns stores in Europe and North America, as well as some stores in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Australia. Along with its stores, Ted Baker merchandise is sold in other retail shops that the company calls “Ted Baker Trustees”. Its most notable retail partners are UK chains John Lewis and the House of Fraser. Ted Baker goods are also sold in Selfridges stores in London, Birmingham and Manchester.

Ted Baker makes a wide range of fashion items for both men and women across various collections, including accessories, fragrances, footwear, watches and beauty items. Products are reviewed periodically based on public reception and the company continues to grow into more product areas organically. To do this, Ted Baker splits its operations into three separate areas, including retail, wholesale and licensing.

Ted Baker’s focus on superior product quality, design and strict attention to detail has enabled the company to grow into new territories and expand its portfolio of items and stores. In 2006, Ted Baker agreed new regional deals to open stores in Hong Kong, Singapore and Dubai and continued to expand its geographical operations by opening further locations in Asia in the following years.
