Analyst Comments

Attractive technical set-up with beginnings of another bounce from the floor to the ceiling of a two-year falling channel. Shares bottomed out last week, and up for a third day, respecting the technical 3 day rule. Bond-proxy shares (Telecoms, Utilities, etc.) are seeing renewed interest after the strong market sell-off.

BT recently re-secured rights to premiership football again. Recently announced cross-selling with Sky. Closed defined benefit pension, reducing risk. Expanding fibre deployment. Attractive near-7% dividend yield.

Consensus is bullish in terms of rating, but very much in terms of price targets with a whopping 100% suggesting upside from current levels. Even the most bearish of brokers, suggests the shares are fairly valued at 230p, where they trade today. Might some of the neutrals be inclined to upgrade to Buy?
