Markets Overview:

UK 100 called to open +20 points at 7165; this comes after the UK blue chip index rebounded from overnight lows of 7130 as global geopolitical tension mounted once more. The tit-for-tat cycle dampening U.S.-China relations kept spinning ahead of trade talks. The U.S. put visa bans on Chinese officials linked to the detention of Muslims in Xinjiang province, and Beijing countered with the inevitable outrage. This lead to a more muted Asian trading session seeing the Nikkei fall by almost seven tenths of a percent (.68%) during trading. During US sessions we saw the Dow Jones give up more than 1% again, further evidence of the impact of the trade war on investor sentiment. Overnight oil slipped back (Albeit just half a dollar) to $58.5 per barrel. Whilst gold held steady at $1507.
