Markets Overview:

UK 100 is called to open +12 points this morning at 6948. This is the highest level that the UK index has traded since the coronavirus pandemic hit Britain as the country prepares for reopening next week. US stocks closed moderately higher while the S&P climbed to a new record high led by large technology companies. Asian markets were mixed as the Nikkei jumped 1.1% while the Topix advanced 0.88% and the MSCI traded 0.12% higher.

Boohoo agrees a LT lease for a new warehouse in Daventry which is expected to become operational in Q2 of the financial year as they expect to invest over £50m in the coming years.

 

Frasers expects up to £200m impairments, citing pandemic effects as the cause.

 

PageGroup reports that their Q1 gross profit was up 2% YoY as their expect their FY operating profit to be between £90m-100m range.
