Markets Overview:

UK 100 is called to open -9 points this morning at 6775. The UK bluechip index is called to open lower this morning after the long Easter weekend amid caution over post-covid economic recovery hopes even though the US markets continue to hit record highs, driven by stronger than expected performance from its service sector industries last month. The Dow Jones rose 373 points to 33,527 and S&P gained 1.4% to close at 4,077. The Nasdaq also climbed 1.7% to close at 13,705. Asian markets saw a mixed open this morning as the Nikkei fell over 300 points at one point through the night.

AstraZeneca: Britian’s health regulator is considering a proposal to restrict the use of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine in younger people over concerns about very rare blood clots.
BP says they have received $4.7bn in disposal proceeds during Q1 after a strong Q1 performance. They now expect 2021 disposal proceeds to be at the top end of the $4-6bn range.
Ryanair reports that thier March passenger numbers were 500,000, down 91% YoY from 5.5m.
