Markets Overview:

UK 100 is called to open +33 points this morning at 7002.  A positive open is expected this morning in the UK, following yesterdays bank holiday and ahead of the expected signing this week of a trade deal with India. Stateside yesterdays saw a mixed session on Wall Street, with the Dow Jones gaining 238 points or 0.7% to close back above the  34,000 mark and the S&P 500 rising 0.3%, however it was a different story for the tech heavy Nasdaq, which dropped by 0.5%.  In Asia overnight, markets were higher as the Reserve Bank of Australia decided to maintain its current policy settings, including keeping the cash rate at 0.1%.  The Hang Seng index in Hong Kong rose 0.47% while South Korea’s Kospi gained 0.34%.  The markets in China, Japan and Thailand were closed on Tuesday for holidays.
