Markets Overview:

 

UK 100 called to open flat this morning at 6715.  The UK 100 remains in a nearly two ween channel now between 6705 and 6785.  Overnight in Asia, markets struggled to continue their recent accent, In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng index traded 392 points weaker at 29,535. Elsewhere in Asia, Japan’s Nikkei 225 closed 82 points lower at 28,675.  This followed on from a mixed session on Wall Street, which saw The Dow Jones drift 12 points lower to close at 31,176 while the S&P closed the day a single point higher at 3,853. Only the Nasdaq showed any vigour, advancing 74 points to 13,531.

Computacentre raises their 2020 profit guidance as they report an adjusted pretax profit of £195m as their total revenue grew by 8%.

 

GlaxoSmithKline and Johnson & Johnson have announced that the FDA has approved their long-acting HIV drug Cabenuva in the US.

 

Mediclinic report that their Q3 revenue increased 2.5% and their EBITDA was down 8%>.

 

Next have pulled out of the bidding for brands owned by Arcadia Group as they are unable to meet the price expectations of the collapsed fashion chain.
