Markets Overview:

UK 100 called to open +7 at 7240 this morning; this follows overnight data that showed that China’s consumer inflation is at 8 year high, however PPI is stuck in the red. This paired with a lack of recent progress in U.S-SINO trade negotiations lead to a trading session in the red for major Asian bourses, the Nikkei fell 15 points to close at 23415, while the Hang Seng fell 11 points to close at 26483. Trading in the U.S also saw major indices trade lower, the Dow closed out the day at 27909 -105 points, will we see a break back through 28000 today?  The S&P closed at 3136, -10 points & the Nasdaq closed at 8621, a fall of 35 points. Meanwhile oil overnight held firm over $64.5 per barrel as the Saudis agreed to cut production by 167,000 bpd, will further cuts see oil trading back to $70 a barrel? This was the level being touted on oil prices.com.  Gold remained firm around the $1462 level overnight. With the general election just 48 hours away, will we continue to see investors position themselves today? Are we also gearing up for another Santa rally? These are just some questions dancing investors today.
